Inspection of Crude Oil, Petroleum Products and Gases
A key line of business for JSC "BUREAU VERITAS RUS" is providing expert assessment of the quantity and quality of crude oil, petroleum products and gases, both for export and for the domestic market, and eliminating client risks through independent inspection and laboratory testing, including "Loss Control" — monitoring losses that occur during rail and waterborne transport of cargo. This program includes both standard inspections at loading and discharge points and a set of measures aimed at eliminating shortages and monitoring possible losses between loading and discharge points.
In Russia, JSC "BUREAU VERITAS RUS" has for more than 25 years successfully carried out various quantity-inspection projects for shipments of crude oil, petroleum products and gases, as well as laboratory testing of these cargoes at various locations across the country.

This modern, highly efficient system allows the client, via the Internet, to obtain round-the-clock secure access to the accumulated body of data on independent Bureau Veritas inspections carried out on their behalf, from anywhere in the world.

More than 1,000 highly qualified specialists in Russia carry out cargo inspections at oil refineries, oil depots and oil-producing wells, and during transport by various modes (river and sea vessels, rail and road tankers, flexitanks in containers, etc.) in accordance with both domestic and international standards (ASTM, IP, API, etc.). To protect the interests of Russian clients, "BUREAU VERITAS RUS" cooperates closely with members of the BUREAU VERITAS group of companies across the CIS, Europe and Asia.
BUREAU VERITAS operates fifteen oil and gas laboratories in Russia equipped with state-of-the-art equipment (Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Vysotsk, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhnekamsk, Novokuibyshevsk, Ufa, Nakhodka), plus five laboratories in Ukraine and four in the Baltic states. Most laboratories are accredited for competence and independence under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
The international BUREAU VERITAS certificate, issued based on the results of the independent assessment carried out, is a guarantee of the quality and reliability of the inspection results, accepted by traders, banks and governments around the world.

The Metrology Service of JSC "BUREAU VERITAS RUS" is accredited by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology for technical competence in metrological supervision, and holds a certificate for performing calibration work.
