The use of portable laboratory equipment to determine protein, moisture, test weight and impurities makes it possible to obtain key grain-quality parameters virtually alongside a vessel or railcar, at a port, railway station, or directly in the field.
The Company's policy of continuously expanding and improving its laboratory facilities enables the quality of inspected agricultural products to be determined on the basis of results obtained in its own laboratories.
The establishment in 2004 of an Analytical Centre based at the Rostov Grain Laboratory, and in 2010 of an Analytical Laboratory Centre in Novorossiysk, specializing in quality analysis of grain and oilseed cargoes as well as processed products and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, now enables quality analyses under virtually all international standards (ICC, ISO, GAFTA, USDA and FOSFA). The laboratories' accreditations under GOST R, GAFTA, FOSFA and ISO 9001 enable Bureau Veritas to provide services in Russia at the highest international level. Comprehensive cargo inspection and the professional, diligent work of inspectors in measurements and calculations, sampling, and testing make it possible to minimize our clients' losses and risks.

Inspection of Railcar Loading/Unloading.
- inspection of the technical condition and cleanliness of railcars before loading;
- continuous supervision of loading/unloading;
- supervision of the weighing of empty and loaded railcars;
- sampling during loading in accordance with GOST, GAFTA and FOSFA requirements;
- preparation of daily, lot and composite samples for the shipment lot;
- quality testing of collected/provided samples in accordance with the client's specification;
- sealing/unsealing of railcar hatches;
- daily updates on loading/unloading.
Pre-Shipment Cargo Inspection at a Port or Inland Grain Elevator
- confirmation of cargo availability;
- determination of the quantity of cargo held in silos or flat warehouses;
- inspection of cargo storage conditions;
- visual inspection of cargo quality;
- sampling and preparation of representative samples;
- quality testing of collected/provided samples in accordance with the client's specification;
- preparation of a photographic report;
- issuance of final reports and certificates.
Quality and Quantity Inspection During Vessel Loading
- inspection of hold cleanliness prior to loading, to determine suitability for carrying grain cargoes;
- supervision of reweighing on port or grain-elevator scales;
- determination of cargo quantity by vessel draft, using the draft-survey method;
- continuous supervision of loading;
- sampling during loading and preparation of lot and composite samples;
- quality testing of collected samples in accordance with the client's specification;
- daily updates on loading progress;
- preparation of daily and final photographic reports;
- sealing of vessel holds;
- issuance of final reports and certificates.
Quality and Quantity Inspections During Container Loading
- inspection of the container before loading to determine its suitability for carrying grain cargoes;
- quantity inspection by supervising the weighing of empty and loaded containers when loading bulk cargoes into containers;
- tally counting of cargo quantity (for general cargo);
- sampling during container loading in accordance with GAFTA, GOST and FOSFA requirements; preparation of a composite sample for each container and of composite samples for the shipment lot (group of containers);
- analysis of the composite sample for the shipment lot (group of containers) or for an individual container in accordance with the Client's specification;
- daily updates on loading progress;
- preparation of daily and final photographic reports;
- sealing of the container;
- issuance of final reports and certificates.
Warehouse and Grain Elevator Inventory Taking
Quantity and Quality Inspection of Food Products During Vehicle Loading/Unloading
Sampling, testing and product quality certification are carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST standards; international ICC, ISO, CEE, USDA, GAFTA and FOSFA standards; the tender terms of exporting/importing countries; the London Sugar Association; and the client's specification.
