Industrial assets are vital to our society. They incorporate large amounts of diverse software and offer connectivity capabilities, which makes them increasingly vulnerable to intentional or accidental security breaches. Our services help asset owners and operators assess and reduce the risks associated with their industrial systems—loss of access, integrity, and/or confidentiality—while ensuring efficient operation.

CONTEXT

Security, reliability, and availability are key factors for industrial organisations. Today they face significant risk due to the explosive growth in connectivity of operational technology (OT) systems (PLCs, ICS SCADA). All systems, sensors, and networks must be assessed and protected against cyberattacks.

For these reasons, regulators clearly recognise the need to strengthen security within the world of industrial organisations. The European Parliament adopted the Network and Information Security (NIS) Directive in 2016 and transposed it into national law in most EU member states by 2018. This is complemented by ENISA guidelines and the IEC 62443 standard. In the United States, NIST, NERC and DHS have issued several SCADA OT and ICS guidelines and standards.
