SMZ Confirms Compliance of Its Environmental Management System with ISO 14001:2015

21 July 2026

JSC "SMZ" (Samara Metallurgical Plant) has confirmed that its environmental management system complies with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2015. The audit was carried out by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in independent certification and compliance assessment.

The audit process took 4 days. During this time, the main production departments (smelting and casting, rolling, and pressing) as well as supporting divisions were reviewed — covering everything from management documentation and management system methodology to production sites in the plant's key workshops.

Bureau Veritas noted the plant management's leadership and commitment to environmental protection, and confirmed the consistent implementation of environmental protection measures.

The confirmed compliance with the international standard demonstrates JSC SMZ's systematic approach to managing environmental risks and its commitment to improving production efficiency without harming the region's environment.

A certified environmental management system gives the company significant advantages: it strengthens its image as a responsible employer and partner, and increases customer trust.

According to Andrey Morozov, Head of the Environmental Department at JSC "SMZ": "The foundation of the standard is creating a controlled environment where every process is tracked, analyzed, and improved. Quality management makes it possible to achieve ambitious environmental goals."

The plant's environmental management system has been certified to the ISO 14001 standard since 2003.
