Code of Ethics and Labor Policy

ETHICS: AN "ABSOLUTE" FOR THE GROUP

Our Code of Ethics places integrity at the very top of our list of priorities. Building on this code, we have established relationships of trust with our employees, clients, shareholders and local communities.

Our Code of Ethics sets out the rules, principles and values that underpin everything we do.

For our employees, the Code of Ethics is a source of shared pride that guides our teams and drives our growth. Our staff training and assessment programs, together with internal and external audits, ensure full compliance with its requirements.

100% of our employees are trained on ethics compliance

Our intermediaries, subcontractors, joint-venture partners and key suppliers are required to declare in writing their commitment to complying with our Code of Ethics.

Trust is an essential condition for any healthy business relationship. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of our clients, including all commercial and personal data. We also comply with local and international ethical standards in accordance with the norms and standards of our profession.

Our Code of Ethics is regularly updated in line with evolving laws and regulations.

OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS: A TOP PRIORITY

Building quality relationships with clients across the entire value chain is essential to ensuring satisfaction.

The client satisfaction assessment process is conducted at least once a year. Local and global results allow us to pursue a policy of continuous improvement and raise satisfaction levels among all Bureau Veritas clients.

More than 284,000 surveys were conducted in 2018
86% of clients satisfied
ISO 9001 certified 87% of our activities

Our lean management process forms the basis for a culture of continuous improvement and has a positive impact on client satisfaction. This process is used for planning, route optimization, data management, project progress monitoring, and project and report digitization. It helps us continually improve the relationships we maintain with our clients by offering them solutions tailored to their needs and expectations.

Our operational excellence also depends on the quality management system underpinning the Group's organizational structure, which ensures that Bureau Veritas adheres to the same standards worldwide and across all sectors.

OUR HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY

Bureau Veritas is committed to promoting and protecting human rights, regardless of the country or the projects we are called upon to carry out.

The Group has published its Human Rights and Labor Rights Policy, based on international standards, norms and guidelines such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the OECD Guidelines, and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

Bureau Veritas encourages all stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors, partners and clients to embrace the principles of this policy.

COMMITMENTS WE REQUIRE OF OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

Given the significant role that procurement and subcontracting play in both our expenditure and our operations, it is essential that suppliers and subcontractors adhere to our corporate social responsibility policy.

The Bureau Veritas Business Partner Code of Conduct is part of our Code of Ethics and our Human Rights and Labor Policy. It draws on international norms, standards and rules, and sets out the integrity, social responsibility and safety requirements that all Bureau Veritas business partners are required to meet.
